Die Dusche

Was reading an article about water shortage in UK (always makes me think ‘with THEIR rainfall???’) and how it said that showers should now be limited to 4 minutes and no longer.

Oooh. That will be tough for some men.

Here Hubby has met his match in Bee who likes to stay forever in the shower. They bagsy the shower times on a morning (the rest of us do shower but at different times – I normally have most of mine at the gym in fact). Bee always points out she has WAY more hair she needs to wash compared to Hubby. (true). It never goes down well.

Bee’s bathroom (came like that with the house- don’t think kids NEED their own bathrooms) backs onto our bedroom wall. So we can hear her yanking on the faucet and being in there. Hubby likes to knock on the wall and tell her to hurry up and not use all the water. She cant hear what he is saying, just the bangs so then there is the turning of the faucet off….and her usual “Whaaaat?” which we all mimic quite well.

But like it or not, she is a shower hogger. Strangely enough, as of yet, the boys haven’t got this problem…… yet.

The draught is probably because it’s the wrong sort of rain or maybe someone forgot to turn the reservoir on. :-)
We have two baths (no showers) and water that heats as you need it (meant to be more economical) and we stagger baths through the week. The babes go in together and the girls vegetate in their baths until we throw a grenade in.

Hi. I left a comment a couple of posts down but not sure if you saw it. You’ve won a copy of Shelley Harris’s book ‘Jubilee’ from the author interview prize draw on my blog, where you commented.
Could you drop me an email with your address: jenvcampbell @ gmail.com and I’ll pop a copy of Shelley’s book in the post to you. :)

    thanks,

    Jen x

It’s the south of England and East Anglia that have a drought, not up here. Us Northerners (yes I’m grouping myself in there now!) have had plenty of rain and so can still use our hose pipes (when it’s not raining) if we want to.

My parents in Sussex have had no rain since December!

  4. Mmmmm, that water drought sure does keep folk busy, busy, busy! ;)
